Snippy – Tiny screen grabbing software

Snippy is a tiny free software that grabs the desktop screen. If you want a professional version for screen grabbing try Snagit. Snagit is very useful if you are a blogger. But snippy is free and not a memory hog. There is no install program. Snippy is a very small program; just 100 KB. Simply save the Snippy executable in some convenient location on your hard-drive. Click on the Snippy icon – mouse cursor changes to a pen – mark an area of the screen – the marked area is now in your clipboard.If you want to select a rectangular area, just hold down the Shift key while dragging. You can configure some things like the color of the border and so on by right-clicking on the Snippy icon in the taskbar. One of the things you can do here is to set a keyboard hotkey for activating the capture mode. In order to use snippy as a read to grab and paste software do this steps. 1. Download snippy here and put it in the windows startup folder. 2. Now snippy will hide itself in windows taskbar notification area. Right click and select settings. 3. Now change the settings as shown in the screen shot. Keep the stroke width as Zero to avoid any border in the screen shot. 4. Choose a Hotkey for snippy and add a shortcut to your Startup folder so that Snippy starts up automatically when you turn on your computer. 5. Uncheck copy as html and select freehand region. This will allow to capture the screen at the press of the Hotkey in rectangular region. Now whenever you want to grab the desktop screen, press the hotkey ( In this case Alt+ C ) and now grab the screen. The screen shot will be stored in your clipboard. No paste it in your Microsoft PowerPoint application. This software is very useful whenever you work with PowerPoint and need to paste a lot of screenshot of your desktop.
